March 10, 2019 - League Wind-Up
For our league wind-up, we will have an opportunity for teams to disband and get to know some new players/faces.
2-3pm - Grassroots Development Session
We will start the morning with a Grassroots Development Session. Players will be split into groups and will rotate through stations based on different areas of development. Each city's coach will be asked to run one station with one drill/game for the duration of this time. Schedule and stations will be sent out in advance.
3-4:30pm - Dutch Tournament
The second portion of the day will be a "Dutch Tournament", consisting of several small-format games played on a half field with rotating teams - 4 minutes per game. Players will not play with the same team throughout. There will be no keepers and we will not be keeping track of scores. This format allows players to apply the skills learned from the Grassroots session. There will be no referees for these games and no formal coaching. Coaches can monitor the games from the sidelines to ensure the safety of all players, but are encouraged to allow the players to make decisions on their own without 'coaching' them during the game.
