Board Members (Executives) - The WSC board is a great place to volunteer if you have ideas for the future or are looking to make a difference within the organization. We seek members who are reliable, organized, enthusiastic, and those with leadership skills. We have a variety of roles and welcome any interested parties to attend a board meeting to see what is a good fit for them.
Coaches - Coaches are integral to the success of soccer in Wetaskiwin! Our coaches are mentors to their players, teaching them soccer skills and encouraging enthusiasm about soccer! Coaches must enjoy working with children and be willing to enhance their coaching/soccer skills through ongoing training.
Assistant Coaches - Assistant coaches are coaches too! Often in practices, two coaches work together on the field to increase one-on-one time with the players, or to maximize field time by running two drills at one time. Becoming an assistance coach is a great way to learn more about soccer, while working with children on the field and having fun!
Junior Coaches - Junior coaches are WSC players aged 14-18 who are interested in mentoring a U4/U6/U8 team. This provides coaching experience to our older players and is a great resume builder. Additionally it gives younger players something to look forward to when they have an older role model teaching them!
Team Manager - Team managers assist coaches with administrative duties throughout the season. Depending on age range, this could include contacting parents to provide updates, organizing snack schedules, contacting out-of-town teams, organizing player cards, registering for tournaments and submitting rosters.
Please note: If you sign up for any of the following volunteer duties, your time slot and job will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.
